Schellschlicht (6:50h, 1279hm) ⚫

First, sorry for early departure, but trip takes a while and I don’t want to return that late.

We are also slightly at risk that we cannot do it, because a road we need to pass is closed due to wood-work. We’re only using the start of it and it’s weekend so I assume we’re fine.
If we really cannot do it, we can head to Hoher Ziegspitz and further to Stepbergalm.

With Shellschicht, we breach 2000hm (2053hm). It’s classified as hard, also check bergtour-online (in german), where I found the tour.
We start along the Neidernach before we start ascent.
There is one spot at Hoher Brand secured with some metal wires. A little bit later it seems like we need to cross some rock, just keep left to it. Now path starts to get more narrow again until we arrive at Schellschicht. The Summit is quite narrow. We take some time for lunch-snacks.
There’s no hut on route, so take enough to eat and drink.

For the return, train unfortunately only runs every 2 hours, so we will not stay too long, to try to get train at 15:40.

If you join by train, I assume you to have a Deutschland-Ticket. If not, please check who else needs a ticket and align to get one on time.
