🔴 Schönfeldjoch und Wildenkarjoch (5:37h, 1356hm)

We take the BergBus 396 from Munich towards the Ursprungtal, at the border to Tyrol. This roundtour in the Kufsteiner Berge leads along the ridge between the Schönfeldjoch and the Wildenkarjoch — a scenic summit hike that requires some sure-footedness (Trittsicherheit) and a good head for heights.

The trail is partly eroded and the ridge has steep drops on both sides, so caution is needed. The descent is steep with loose sand and scree (Geröll) in places. Because of the alpine character, wear good boots, and poles are recommended.

🟢 Seebergkopf (5h, 814hm)

Happy new year, let’s go for a snowshoe hike.
I found this nice tour on the DAV Tourentipps.

The start is not directly to reach without a car. It’s another 3½km (45 minutes) by foot from and to the train station.
If you join by train, I assume you to have a Deutschland-Ticket. If not, please check who else needs a ticket and align to get one on time.

🔴 Stolzenberg (4:30h, 600hm)

I don’t have that many ideas for hikes in winter, so we’re using the latest weekly “Tourentipp” from DAV München Oberland to the Stolzenberg.

It’s not a long hike, so we don’t need to go early, but we don’t want to get there, when it’s crowded. So we take the train at 07:29 to Schliersee and from there the bus.

Be aware there’s probably snow, so have good shoes, maybe Gaters and Grödl. I’ll also check for the Avalanche report on time, but it’s currently Danger Level 1 – low below 1600hm.

🔴 Teufelstättkopf / Sonnenberg (7:00h, 1038hm)

A beautiful combined hike in the Bavarian Prealps, offering two summits in one tour - Teufelstättkopf and Sonnenberg. This medium-difficulty hike provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding alpine landscape.

We start from Munich and take a bus to Teufelstättkopf, where our first ascent begins. After reaching the first summit, we continue to Sonnenberg, enjoying the scenic ridge walk between the two peaks. The return journey takes us back to Munich via the same route.
