⚫ Drachenkopf (8:30h, 1462hm)

The first tour this year above 2000hm (I had planned another one, but I like the Seebensee, Drachensee and the ascent).

The route starts in Ehrwald, which is in Austria, so have your passport with you (as we arrive by german train which later returns to germany, the Deutschland Ticket is valid for the ride).
Unfortunately we need to walk through the town to get to the ascent. The ascent is quite steep, there are also narrow passages, where you should not have any fear of heights. The path is classified as via ferrata (Klettersteig) with the name Hoher Gang, but it can be done without any gear, it’s classified as difficulty A/B (checkou this video to get an idea).

🟢 Gamskogel (7h, 969hm)

It’s going to be cold, but we should see the sun.

The tour is not as it could be. We start te hike from Kufstein, pass the Weinbergerhaus, but they are currently closed. As well as some other paths, so we have a longer passage we go in both directions.
When heading down, we pass the Berghaus Aschenbrenner, where we can have something to drink or even eat. Then we return to Kufstein, and back home.

🔴 Geierstein - Fockenstein (6:30h, 1170hm)

Are you ready for another hike? The Geierstein & Fockenstein are a classic. It is part of the Maximiliansweg, which is part of the European long distance path E4. As it’s a known route we’ll not be alone, so better do it at the beginning of the year.

We start in Lenggries, start going up at the Kalvarienberg to our first summit, the Geierstein, which is mostly going up. After a hort break we head to the next and main summit, the Fockenstein. Depending on the group we make a longer or shorter break and head to the Aueralm, where we can have a drink or also something to eat, before we descend to Bad Wiessee, where we take the Bus to Gmund and the train back to Munich.

🟢 Geigelstein (6:00h, 1148hm)

Sorry it took so long for another hike, and I only can go on Saturday this week.

The Geigelstein is a easy hike, with 1148 height meters. As it is, there are lots of people getting there. Getting there and back is not that easy without a car, bus only goes once, so we need to be back on time (unless we ask some other people for help). But when we are fast enough we can have a short stop at Priener Hütte.

🔴 Herzogstand & Heimgarten (7:30h, 1068hm)

The Herzogstand & Heimgarten is a classic hike in the Bavarian Alps, offering beautiful views of the Eibsee and surrounding mountains. This medium-difficulty tour takes us through scenic alpine meadows and forested areas.

We start from Munich Hauptbahnhof and take a bus to Herzogstand, where our hike begins. From there, we ascend to Heimgarten, enjoying panoramic views along the way. After reaching the summit, we’ll have time for lunch and photos before descending back to Herzogstand for our return journey.

🔴 Hochmiesing (7h, 1116hm)

The weather this sunday looks very very good, so let’s have one last hike this year, and also the last hike I organize on this meetup group before it will be closed in march.

The tour is not particularly hard, but there’s snow, last time I was there, there was also ice, so bringing some Crampons is a good idea.

It can be quite windy at the top, so best have some warm drinks with you as well. There’s no hut this time to take a break and get something to eat and drink.
