Let’s explore another area of alps close to munich.
Close to Garmisch-Patenkirchen, there’s the Hoher Fricken. Our route is nothing special, but with a height of 1939m we are close to 2000. We start from Farchant, which is one station before Garmisch-Patenkirchen.

This time, there’s no hut on the tour (there’s Almgasthof Esterberg, but it’s not really on the path, we might decide to take a detour if we’re back early).

If you join by train, I assume you to have a Deutschland-Ticket. If not, please check who else needs a ticket and align to get one on time.
